Used to create an adhesive layer on non-absorbent surfaces before the application of a levelling compound, repair mortar, waterproofing membrane, tile adhesive etc.

A two-component water based primer that contains a polymerous binder and a powder hardener.

Application areas

mira 4140 contact primer is a two-component primer, consisting of a binder and a hardener. Always use in the correct ratio and as a concentrate. The product cannot be mixed with other substances or diluted. The hardened surface must always be covered.

Type of substrate

Adheres to most non-absorbent substrates like polished concrete, glazed and unglazed ceramic tile, terrazzo, epoxy and painted surfaces. Can be used on stainless steel but only indoors.

Pre-treatment of substrate

The substrate must be coherent and clean. Cracks, holes and imperfections but be filled with cement mortar. The substrate must be cleaned of dirt, oil, grease, loose particles of paint or glue etc.

Application

Before priming, the substrate must be prepared and sufficiently dry for the primer to adhere to it. Oil and grease must be removed from the substrate, warm water and a pressure washer can be used to achieve the best result.

When the binder and hardener are thoroughly mixed, apply 4140 contact primer to the substrate with a brush or a broom. The mortar must be worked thoroughly into the substrate, in order to achieve good contact. Further surface treatment can begin after 2-3 hours of drying. After finishing the job, clean the tools immediately.

Working environment

Product is not subject to REACH registration. Working hygienic rules must be followed. Reference to safety data sheet.

Storage and transportation

Store and transport frost free and dry.

The product keeps technical specification minimum 12 months after production date in unopened packaging.

Can be used hereafter; technical properties may, however, change; e.g. setting time may be extended.
