Usage

6990 betodeck is a low-alkali, cement based, modified repair- and levelling compound.

6990 is suitable for use on heavy-duty surfaces like terraces, balconies, swimming pools, outdoor stairs and areas where traditional products might cause an alkaline reaction.

6990 betodeck is a dry product that is ready to use after mixing with water.

Low-alkaline, cement and quartz sand based water- and frostproof repair- and levelling compound.

Application areas

For repair and levelling works as well as building slopes on surfaces that must endure water and moisture. On moderate-duty surfaces, the screed can be left uncovered.

Types of substrates

Suitable for use on coherent and clean substrates, such as concrete and floor screed.

Pre-treatment of substrate

The substrate must be dry, stable and soherent, clean of dust, grease and other dirt. Any hardened laitance and weak parts of the concrete surface shall be cut off or ground away. Grease, oil etc. to be removed using 7110 base cleaner, high pressure water cleaning or other effective cleaning method.

Priming

Priming is normally not necessary, however very porous substrates should be primed with mira 4180 primer.

Application

25 kg 6990 betodeck powder to be mixed with 3,4-3,9 l clean water. For the best result, mix a minimum of 2 minutes with a cement mixer or pump, until the mixture is homogenous.

The mortar can be used up to 3 hours after mixing 10-20°C.

Apply mixture immediately and work it thoroughly into substrate.

Newly cast concrete must be protected against drying out during hardening process.

The surface is ready for light traffic after 6 hours.

Working environment

The product contains cement. Working hygienic rules for cement must be followed.
6990 betodeck contains white cement that has a naturally low chromium (VI) content, and will therefore always comply with the limit value of max. 2 mg/kg.

Packaging

25 kg plastic bags.

Storage and transportation

Transport and store dry. 6990 betodeck keeps technical specification minimum 6 months after production date in unopened packaging. Can be used hereafter, technical properties may however, change; for example, the setting time may be extended.
